It’s 80 years since Wilbury Grange was built

2018 is our 80th anniversary

It’s an important anniversary for Wilbury Grange. The building was first advertised in 1937 and we believe it was completed in 1938. See the History page for more information.

So how can we celebrate this year? We can set 80 years as our theme for our summer party. We’ll be planning this at our next Board meeting in March.

Basement flooding

Meanwhile, we had a minor flood in the basement last week which left a foot of water in the cellar. Colin Beaddie waded through icy cold water to ensure that the hot water and heating did not trip. As temperatures were around zero or lower, we should all be grateful for his pre-emptive action.

Then the basement flooded a second time this weekend and Colin was again attending with Steve Ford to try and work out the cause and replace the fuses that blew. Colin is our unsung hero!

Blocked drains and pipes

At the same time we had a blocked drain outside Block 4 and a frozen pipe outside Block 1. Hence the notices: it’s very important to fix leaking taps – the slow drip of water readily freezes. Please make sure you fix any leaking taps.
