When flat owners carry out works of any sort to their flat they must take all reasonable steps to protect the common parts and carpets. If damage is caused as a result of works the flat owner will be liable for that damage or any additional cleaning costs incurred.

Cleaning/vacuuming of any dusting must be effected at appropriate intervals proportionate to ensuring a neat and tidy appearance and to avoid the proliferation of dust to other parts of the building.  This would include horizontal ledges as well as carpets, floors, etc.
