If you smell gas inside or outside your flat do the following:

  • Turn off the gas supply at the meter
  • Open doors and windows to allow the gas to escape
  • Put out naked flames
  • Don’t smoke
  • Don’t turn electric switches on or off
  • Don’t use telephones or doorbells
  • Call the Gas Emergency Service: 0800 111 999

It is absolutely essential gas appliances are serviced at least once a year. Gas Safety Certificate must be obtained annually for all gas appliances within the flat.
