Rubbish collection and recycling

Please do not put glass or mirrors in any bin except the glass recycling bin. It is very dangerous to put it in any other bin.

Rubbish and recycling is collected from the communal bins on a weekly basis and recycling on a fortnightly basis. Cones are put out the night before the collection day to make sure parked vehicles do not prevent access by the collection lorries. Please do not move the cones, park in the coned area or obstruct access to the courtyard.

All large items of rubbish (furniture etc.) should be taken to the Hove Recycling Depot on Old Shoreham Road or arrangements made with the Brighton & Hove Council for collection. If large items are dumped by the bins then everyone at Wilbury Grange ends up paying for their disposal though your service charges. Please let any director know if you see anyone dumping large items.

Fly tipping on public pavements is unlawful and is an offence. Under no circumstances should large items of rubbish be left in the grounds or by the bins since this will not be collected by the refuse collectors without payment.

If collection has to be made by private collectors the costs will be charged to those responsible. The minimum charge for attendance is £60 + VAT.
