Water Leaks
In the event of a leak or burst pipe, your stopcock should be turned off immediately.
Please make sure you find out where your stopcock in case of emergency. In Block 4, in some cases, the individual stopcocks for each apartment are located in the hallway outside each flat, but this isn’t always the case. You should turn on and off the stopcock for your flat every month to keep it in working condition.
In the event of any leak you must notify the managing agent immediately. You must switch off your water until a plumber has attended to fix the problem. Servcom are the recommended plumbers for Wilbury Grange.
If a leak occurs in the flat above you, please contact the occupant in the first instance, then notify the managing agent.
If your windows allow water ingress, please contact one of the local windows repair companies. If the leak occurs on the wall or ceiling close to the window, please contact the managing agent.
Extreme caution must be adhered to, in order to prevent any escape of water, i.e. from the dishwasher, washing machine, sinks, shower or bath. All of these must be turned off when you are out of the apartment and should not be left to run.
Remember you maybe liable for damage to other flats if the water leak originates from your flat either because of accidents or via faulty windows or leaking pipes.
